Greig Alderman is a multi-disciplined designer and maker with over 15 years of professional experience. In 2011, he established his independent jewellery business, which has since gained national recognition. His work has been selected for three major initiatives showcasing emerging British jewellery talent, featured on television, and included in the private collection of artist and comedian Noel Fielding.

Creative Inspiration and Process

Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of cultural phenomena Greig’s work spans both contemporary art jewellery and modern demi-fine jewellery. The creative process is driven by a playful experimentation with forms, materials, and processes, allowing designs to evolve naturally.

Each piece is carefully crafted using a fusion of traditional hand skills and contemporary innovations.  High quality materials are seamlessly integrated, through CAD design, 3D printing, stone setting, enamelling, and electro plating to create distinctive jewellery collections, unique one-of-a-kind pieces, and occasional objets d'art.

Greig's work is characterised by a mastery of techniques, attention to detail, and strong conceptual vision.

Beyond Metalwork

While studying for an MA in Craft, recent explorations in lampworking (flame working) have led to the creation of jewellery and occasional sculptural objects in borosilicate glass. This technique-driven approach cultivates an interaction between medium, process, and craftsmanship, resulting in works that are organic, unique, and inherently original.

In addition to his work in jewellery and glass, Greig has also designed and tested his own card game inspired by the Wars of the Roses.
